135 Residents Evacuated After Fire at Naupada Society in Thane

Around 135 residents were moved to safety on Friday afternoon after a fire broke out in a ground-floor meter box room at Rajhans Annex Society in Gaondevi, Naupada, Thane West.

The incident was reported at approximately 2:08 pm at the ground-plus-seven-storey residential building, situated near Pranav Society, beside Rajmahal Jewellers and opposite the Gaondevi Bus Depot.

The blaze started in the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) meter box room located on the ground floor of the building. The fire generated heavy smoke, prompting authorities to evacuate around 135 residents as a precautionary measure to ensure their safety.

Firefighters and personnel from the Disaster Management Cell reached the location and managed to completely extinguish the blaze.
