15-Year-Old Girl Injured in Hit-and-Run Near Mithibai College in Vile Parle

A 15-year-old girl sustained serious injuries after a speeding motorcycle struck her while she was crossing the road near Mithibai College in Vile Parle (West) on the morning of August 22. The rider failed to stop after the collision and fled the scene, prompting local authorities to initiate an investigation.
The incident took place on N.S. Road No. 1, a busy stretch in Vile Parle known for its educational institutions and heavy traffic. According to reports, the teenager was attempting to cross the street when the motorcycle approached at high speed and hit her. The force of the impact threw the girl onto the road, leaving her seriously injured.
People in the vicinity immediately rushed to help the injured teenager and alerted the authorities. Eyewitnesses at the scene reportedly attempted to stop the motorcyclist following the crash, but the rider managed to escape from the area before being apprehended.
Police officers subsequently reached the location and made arrangements for the injured girl to be transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
The Juhu Police have registered a case against an unidentified person and are working to identify the rider and the vehicle involved in the collision. According to the Juhu Police, the teenager was hit by the speeding motorcycle before the rider fled from the spot, and an investigation is underway to identify the vehicle and trace the absconding accused.
Investigators are examining footage from CCTV cameras installed around the vicinity, nearby establishments, and connecting roadways to determine the motorcycle's registration details and trace the route taken by the rider after the accident. A CCTV video purportedly showing the collision was also shared on social media by the handle AndheriLOCA.
