17-Year-Old Student Injured by Falling Iron Rod in Vidyavihar East

A 17-year-old student sustained head injuries on Tuesday afternoon after an iron rod fell and struck him during demolition work being carried out for a road-widening project in Vidyavihar East.

The incident took place at around 3.50 pm on Station Road, opposite R N Gandhi School. The injured youth was identified as Dhiren Jain.

According to preliminary information provided by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), Jain was walking along the road when the iron rod reportedly became dislodged during the ongoing demolition activity and hit him on the head.

Following the incident, Jain was moved to the civic-run Rajawadi Hospital in Ghatkopar for medical treatment. Hospital authorities reported that his condition remains stable.

The demolition work was being undertaken along the stretch as part of a civic road-widening project in the locality.
