35-year-old Ghatkopar man dies by suicide inside auto-rickshaw

A 35-year-old resident of Ghatkopar was found dead on Thursday after allegedly dying by suicide inside an auto-rickshaw. The incident took place within the jurisdiction of the Parksite Police Station in Mumbai.

The deceased has been identified by the police as Adnan Ahmed Waliappa. He was found hanging inside the vehicle.

According to official reports, Waliappa had been living separately from his family for the past three months. Investigators also noted that he was allegedly struggling with an addiction to alcohol.

Prior to the incident, Waliappa had reportedly spoken about ending his life, according to statements from the police.

The Parksite Police have registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR) regarding the case. Further investigation is currently underway to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the death.
