35-Year-Old Shop Owner Electrocuted to Death Near Dombivili Transformer

A 35-year-old woman died after being electrocuted on the night of July 1 in Kacheri village in Dombivili, Thane district, after tripping and coming into contact with a live wire near a power transformer. The fatal accident occurred amid heavy rains that had been affecting the region.
The victim, identified by authorities as Shashi Rahul Chakra, was a local shop owner in the area. According to police officials, the incident took place when Chakra had gone out during the night to fetch goods for her business establishment.
The accident occurred while she was returning home with the goods. While walking back, the victim tripped and fell near an electricity transformer. Police officials noted that this transformer was located close to a public toilet in the locality. As she fell, she came into contact with a live wire near the structure.
Passersby who witnessed the fall rushed to help the woman. They immediately moved her from the spot and transported her to a nearby hospital. However, doctors at the medical facility declared her dead on arrival.
Medical authorities later confirmed that Chakra had died of a severe electric shock sustained from the electricity transformer.
Following the tragic event, the local police registered a case of accidental death. A thorough probe has been initiated by the police department to investigate the exact circumstances that led to the electrocution.
