36,211 Companies Shut Down in Maharashtra in Five Years, Claims Harshwardhan Sapkal

Maharashtra Congress chief Harshwardhan Sapkal has criticised the BJP-led Mahayuti government, claiming that a total of 36,211 private companies have shut down across the state over the past five financial years.

Speaking on the state's economic conditions, Sapkal stated that official claims regarding massive capital inflows and employment generation do not reflect the reality on the ground.

According to the Congress leader, while the Mahayuti administration has frequently claimed that Maharashtra is attracting investments worth lakhs of crores of rupees and creating millions of jobs, the closure of tens of thousands of businesses presents a contrasting picture.

Sapkal asserted that the ongoing closure of private firms highlights a failure in matching government claims with ground-level industrial stability and growth across the state.
