37 Stranded Mumbai Pilgrims Return Home from Nepal on IndiGo Flight

A group of 37 pilgrims from Mumbai returned home safely on Saturday evening, landing at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) after being stranded in Nepal for days due to flash floods.

The travellers arrived at the airport at 5:11 pm aboard IndiGo flight 6E1158. Emotional scenes unfolded outside Arrival Gate B, where numerous family members and relatives gathered to receive their loved ones after the ordeal.

The pilgrims were also received at the terminal by political representatives, including MLA Manisha Chaudhary, Vinod Shelar, and MLA Bharati Levekar.

According to details of the journey, most of the 37 individuals were part of the same travelling contingent and had set out together with their spiritual guru. Their itinerary included visits to several holy sites, including the Manasarovar region, before severe flash floods struck the region and brought their travel to a halt, leaving them stranded in Nepal.

After days of uncertainty caused by the adverse weather conditions and disrupted transport routes, the group was able to board their return flight back to Mumbai, bringing relief to their waiting families.
