75-Year-Old Woman Bitten by Stray Dog in Andheri East Housing Society

A 75-year-old former schoolteacher was bitten by a stray dog on Sunday evening inside Vastu Shilp Co-operative Housing Society on Rajmata Jijabai Road at Pump House in Andheri East. The victim was surrounded by three dogs before one attacked her inside the residential premises.

The resident, identified as Suvarna Kulkarni, was walking inside the compound while carrying two bags after purchasing milk and a battery cell. As she walked through the society, three dogs surrounded her, and one of the animals suddenly approached and bit her on the left ankle.

CCTV footage from the housing complex captured the entire incident. The security recording shows a housing society security guard rushing towards the animals upon noticing the attack and repeatedly driving them away to protect Kulkarni.

Following the incident, residents of the housing society stated that they had previously warned authorities about the stray dogs in the area. In response, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) maintained that it has no record of any formal complaint lodged regarding the matter at the location.
