8-Year-Old Reva Pawar Injured In Jogeshwari West Wrong-Way Hit-And-Run

An eight-year-old schoolgirl, Reva Pawar, was seriously injured in a hit-and-run incident on Wednesday, July 15, after being struck by a motorcyclist riding in the wrong direction opposite Cafe Arfa in Jogeshwari West, Mumbai. The incident took place at around 9:40 am while the young girl was walking to her tuition classes accompanied by her mother, Nidhi Pawar.

According to the police, the mother and daughter were in the process of crossing the road near the divider when the speeding motorcycle, which was travelling in the wrong direction, collided with the eight-year-old. The force of the impact caused Reva to lose her grip on her mother's hand, and she was subsequently dragged onto the street.

As a result of the collision, Reva suffered severe injuries to multiple parts of her body, including her head, hands, legs, and waist. The severity of the impact caused the young schoolgirl to lose consciousness on the street.

Immediately after hitting the child, the motorcyclist also skidded and fell onto the road. Despite the fall, both the rider and his pillion passenger quickly got back onto their two-wheeler. Instead of helping the unconscious child or transporting her to a nearby hospital, the two individuals fled the scene on their motorcycle.

Following the incident, the Amboli police were notified and have officially registered a case against the unidentified motorcyclist for rash driving.

The victim's mother, Nidhi, provided details to the police, stating that the motorcyclist appeared to be between 25 and 30 years of age and was dressed in a red shirt at the time of the accident.

The Amboli police have since recovered CCTV grabs from the area that show the motorcyclist. Officers are currently using these images to track down and arrest the fleeing suspect and his pillion rider.
