80-Year-Old Motorist Booked After Fatal Car Crash at Appa Parab Chowk in Bandra West

The Bandra Police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against an 80-year-old motorist who rammed his car into a 62-year-old pedestrian, leading to the victim's death. The fatal road crash took place at Appa Parab Chowk in Bandra West on the afternoon of July 17.

The incident came to light at approximately 4:10 PM when a large crowd began to gather at the busy Appa Parab Chowk. A local policeman who went to check on the commotion discovered that a serious road crash had occurred at the spot.

Upon inspecting the scene, the officer found a man who had fallen unconscious on the road. The victim, who was later identified as a 62-year-old senior citizen, was bleeding profusely from his head due to the impact.

A car parked nearby was found with visible signs of damage from the collision. The vehicle had a cracked windshield and distinct cracks located on the body above the right tyre.

Recognising the severity of the situation, the responding policeman immediately summoned his colleagues from the Bandra police station to the scene of the crash. The unconscious victim was then rushed to Bhabha Hospital in Bandra East. However, doctors at the hospital pronounced him dead upon admission.

According to the Bandra Police, the identity of the 62-year-old deceased victim is not yet known.

The 80-year-old motorist who caused the road crash was subsequently brought to the Bandra police station. The driver, who resides near the Mehboob Studio area in Bandra, was detained by the officers.

The Bandra Police have officially registered a case of rash driving and negligence against the elderly motorist following the fatal accident.
