91 Senior Citizens Celebrate Birthdays at Diwale Koliwada Community Event

On July 1, a total of 91 senior citizens came together in Diwale Koliwada, Navi Mumbai, to celebrate their birthdays at a community event organised by a local senior citizens' association. The collective celebration aimed to foster positivity, mutual affection, and stronger social bonds among the elderly members of the community, giving them a renewed sense of enthusiasm, purpose, and belonging.
The event honoured 61 men and 30 women members of the association with bouquets and floral tributes. According to participants, the gathering turned into an emotional reunion as the seniors exchanged birthday wishes, reminisced about old memories, and spent time in lively conversations with one another.
Many participants were moved to tears during the birthday celebration. They described the occasion as a meaningful celebration of lifelong friendships and companionship. Several members expressed that the affection, care, and sense of belonging they receive through the association have given them a renewed sense of enthusiasm and purpose in life.
Beyond organising this annual collective birthday celebration, the local senior citizens' association regularly conducts various activities to keep its members socially and spiritually engaged. For instance, the members participate in a daily group Haripath, which is a devotional prayer recitation. Organisers noted that this daily prayer promotes spiritual well-being and social unity among the elderly.
In addition to the daily prayers, the organisation also arranges annual religious tours. These tours provide the seniors with opportunities for recreation, devotion, and companionship. According to the organisers, these initiatives have helped foster positivity, mutual affection, and stronger social bonds among the members.
Chandrakant Koli, the president of the association, stated that the organisation remains committed to conducting more such programmes in the future. He emphasised that these efforts are designed to ensure the continued happiness and well-being of senior citizens in the years ahead.
