Aaditya Thackeray Calls Protest at Bandra Football Turf Over Mumbai Open Spaces

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader and Worli MLA Aaditya Thackeray has called for a public protest at the Neville D'Souza Football Turf in Bandra West on August 23 against the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's alleged takeover of public open spaces.

Thackeray announced the agitation on social media platform X, accusing the civic administration and the state government of facilitating the transfer of Mumbai's open plots, sports complexes, and playgrounds for commercial development.

In his message, Thackeray urged city residents to join the demonstration to register their opposition against what he termed the snatching away of community areas. The protest is focused on preserving designated recreational zones and public grounds from commercialisation.

The demonstration will be staged at the Neville D'Souza Football Turf in Bandra West on August 23.
