AC Technician Dies After Fall From 11th Floor at Ten BKC in Bandra

A 27-year-old air-condition technician died on Saturday after falling from the 11th floor of a 29-storey building at the Ten BKC complex in Bandra Kalanagar. Following the incident, the Kherwadi police detained a site supervisor and an AC contractor on charges of alleged negligence.
The fatal incident took place around 12:30 pm while the technician, identified as Ziyadul Shamshujuha Huda, was fitting an outdoor air conditioning unit outside a window of the high-rise building.
Police detained supervisor Indrajit Chauhan, 30, and AC contractor Tashvar Ali Ibbarat Ali Mansuri, 28. According to investigators, both Chauhan and Mansuri claimed that Huda had been supplied with a safety harness. However, officials stated that it remained unclear whether the harness had been properly fastened or if the supervisor and contractor had checked the equipment before assigning the task. While Huda was wearing a safety belt at the time of the fall, he was not wearing a helmet.
Huda's co-worker, 21-year-old Atikur Rehman Mohammad Sagir Mansuri, who was assisting him with the installation work, told the police that Huda lost his balance and fell from the 11th floor.
Following the fall, a pedestrian spotted the incident and alerted a passing police patrol vehicle in the area. Huda, a resident of Uttar Pradesh, sustained multiple severe injuries in the fall. He was rushed to Sion Hospital but was declared dead before admission could take place.
The Kherwadi police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident and the safety protocols followed at the site.
