Accenture Employee Killed in Bhandup Hit-and-Run on Eastern Express Highway

A 33-year-old Accenture employee was killed in a hit-and-run collision on the Eastern Express Highway near the Airoli Bridge North Bond area in Bhandup East early Thursday morning. The victim, identified as Siddharth Kamlesh Singh, was heading home on his motorcycle after completing his night shift when an unidentified vehicle struck his two-wheeler and fled the scene.
Singh, a native of Ganghar in the Ara district of Bihar, lived with his mother and sister at Aadharwadi Jail Road in Kalyan. He worked at Accenture Solutions Pvt. Ltd., located at the Godrej and Boyce complex in Vikhroli, and regularly commuted to his office on his Hero Glamour X 125 motorcycle, bearing registration number MH 05 GB 9967.
According to the police, Singh had reported for duty for the night shift on September 30. The collision occurred at around 5:00 AM on October 1 as he was returning home along the highway stretch in Bhandup East. The driver of the unidentified vehicle rammed Singh's motorcycle and immediately fled the spot.
Shortly after the crash, a passerby used Singh's mobile phone to contact his sister, Siddhi, to inform her of the incident. The caller told her that Singh was lying unresponsive on the highway wearing his helmet, having sustained severe injuries to his forehead between his eyes, while his motorcycle lay near the divider. The passerby also stated that he had contacted the police and would assist in taking Singh to Agarwal Hospital in Mulund West.
Siddhi immediately alerted her maternal uncle, Arvind Shrikant Singh, 57, a resident of Badlapur East and a gazetted officer in the Indian Navy. Vikhroli police personnel arrived at the scene and transported Singh to Agarwal Hospital, where doctors examined him and declared him dead on arrival.
Following a complaint lodged by Arvind Singh, the Vikhroli police registered a case against the unidentified driver under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Motor Vehicles Act. Police stated that the driver operated the vehicle in a rash and negligent manner, causing the fatal accident. A manhunt and investigation are underway to trace the vehicle and apprehend the motorist.
