Air India Express Introduces New Uniforms Across Global Network

Air India Express has rolled out a new uniform collection for its cabin crew and frontline teams across its entire global network, taking effect from September 1. The new attire brings a unified aesthetic across airport operations, security, flight operations, and onboard cabins in Mumbai and other destinations.

The collection extends the airline's 'Tales of India' initiative directly into passenger interactions. Drawing inspiration from traditional Indian crafts and weaves, the uniforms incorporate motifs reflecting Tamil Nadu's Kanjeevaram, Himachal Pradesh's Pattu, Gujarat's Patola, Assam's Gamosa, and Madhya Pradesh's Bagh handicraft styles.

The designs feature contemporary adaptations of the classic kurti paired with tailored jackets, scarves, and pocket squares. The colour scheme is anchored around the airline's signature Xpress Blue base, highlighted with Xpress Orange accents.

The female uniforms for cabin crew, airport services, and aviation security were designed in-house by Air India Express designer Pooja Krishnan to suit the physical demands of airport and cabin environments. The men's cabin crew attire was developed in collaboration with retail company Trent Limited.

The airline stated that the garments use banana crepe fabric, selected for its breathability, durability, stretch, and drape to accommodate varying climates and long shifts.

Sunil Suresh, Head of Marketing, E-commerce, and Loyalty at Air India Group, said the frontline teams shape key moments in guest journeys, and the uniforms reflect their energy, professionalism, and warmth while providing a consistent experience across aircraft, airports, and onboard service.
