Ambernath Worker Survives Seven-Storey Fall and Rod Impalement

A 33-year-old construction worker, China Kumar, survived a rare and life-threatening accident after falling nearly seven storeys at a construction site in Ambernath, Thane.
During the incident, a metal reinforcement rod entered through Kumar's left buttock, passed through his pelvis and lower abdomen, and exited through the front abdominal wall. Scans confirmed the path of the impalement.
Kumar also suffered an open fracture of his left femur, extensive soft-tissue damage, and haemorrhagic shock from the trauma. Doctors performed emergency surgery to save his life.
Speaking about the incident, Kumar expressed shock at his survival. "I still cannot believe I am alive. I fell from such a height, and a rod went through my body. I thought I would die," he said.
