Amit Shah Arrives in Mumbai, Welcomed by State Leaders at Airport

Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai on Saturday, where he was formally received by senior Maharashtra leadership. During the visit, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar tied a rakhi on his hand to mark the festival of Raksha Bandhan.

Shah was welcomed at the airport by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis alongside Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Sunetra Pawar.

Following the meeting, Sunetra Pawar shared details of the interaction on social media platform X. She stated that the Union Home and Cooperation Minister was welcomed upon his arrival in Mumbai and extended heartfelt festive greetings.

"Today, at Mumbai, the country's Union Home and Cooperation Minister, Hon. Shri Amitbhai Shah, was welcomed at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. On the occasion of the sacred festival of Raksha Bandhan, Amitbhai was tied a rakhi this time, and heartfelt wishes for Raksha Bandhan were extended. His guidance and cooperation for national interest and the development of Maharashtra are always inspiring," Pawar wrote.

Prior to his arrival in Mumbai, Shah had marked Raksha Bandhan celebrations on Friday in Ahmedabad. During that event in his parliamentary constituency, he met with children diagnosed with Type-1 diabetes and highlighted the Union government's initiative under Prime Minister Narendra Modi to provide free lifelong insulin to affected children to alleviate financial pressure on their families.

Shah's previous official visit to the city took place on August 8, when he visited Sharda Sadan in Fort to inaugurate the new office of the National Urban Co-operative Finance and Development Corporation Limited (NUCFDC).
