Andheri Tenant Gajendra Puri Goswami Finds Bedroom Leak After Upgrading To 1BHK Flat

A Mumbai resident who recently upgraded to a one-bedroom (1BHK) apartment in Andheri after living in the city for 10 years was forced to sleep in his living room due to a severe water leak in his new bedroom ceiling.

Gajendra Puri Goswami, who had spent a decade living in a one-room kitchen (1RK) apartment, recently moved into the newly rented 1BHK. However, upon moving in, he discovered water dripping continuously from his bedroom ceiling. Goswami shared his ordeal in a video that went viral online, highlighting the challenges of renting in the city.

In the video, Goswami walked viewers through the hall of his apartment, showing the sitting area, window view, and television. He described the hall as beautiful and spacious before moving towards the bedroom, where water was seen dripping from the ceiling into a bucket placed on the floor.

Goswami jokingly called the leakage a "waterfall" inside his bedroom and shared the video with the caption, "Finally an upgrade (in rent)". He joked that his home had become a sightseeing spot, suggesting people could visit his apartment instead of going to Juhu Chowpatty or Girgaon Chowpatty.

Because of the severe leakage, Goswami is unable to use the bedroom and has been sleeping in the hall. In the clip, Goswami noted that while he is paying rent for a 1BHK, the unusable bedroom means he is effectively still living in a 1RK.

The video has resonated with other tenants online, with several social media users commenting on the realities of the local rental market. One user commented that after all that hard work, Goswami found himself back where he started, while another noted they were facing the same problem. When asked by a viewer if the apartment was a terrace flat, Goswami clarified that it was not.
