Armed Robbers Loot Lakhs From New Laxmi Jewellers On Irani Road In Dahanu

Three unidentified armed men looted gold and silver ornaments worth several lakhs of rupees from New Laxmi Jewellers on Irani Road in Dahanu town, Palghar, on Monday evening. The daylight robbery occurred at approximately 4:30 pm, when the assailants fired a shot at the shop's glass front and threatened the owner at gunpoint.

According to the police, the three suspects entered the jewellery store and immediately shot at the glass frontage. After threatening the owner with a gun, the men quickly packed gold and silver ornaments into a sack and fled the scene on a motorcycle.

The entire incident took place in full public view, with several local residents witnessing the event. The robbery was also captured on the store's CCTV cameras as well as other surveillance systems installed in the surrounding area.

Following the incident, teams from the Dahanu Police, the Crime Branch, and senior police officials rushed to the spot. A forensic team also visited the store to collect physical evidence, while investigators began examining CCTV footage to identify the suspects.

The police have initiated an immediate search operation and set up checkpoints at strategic locations to trace the accused. A senior police officer stated that special teams have been formed to track down the suspects, and technical evidence is being analysed.

The police have not yet disclosed the exact value of the stolen ornaments and cash, as an assessment is still being carried out in coordination with the shop owner. An offence has been registered, and further investigation is currently in progress.

The daylight robbery has caused significant concern and shockwaves among local traders and residents in Dahanu. Members of the local business community have called on the police to quickly apprehend the suspects and ensure that such incidents do not recur.
