Bandra Residents Demand Action Over Roadwork Materials Stored on Garden Plot

Residents in Bandra West have demanded immediate action from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation against a road contractor for allegedly occupying an open plot reserved for a public garden on Sherly Rajan Road, located off Carter Road.
According to local residents, the space intended for community recreation has been taken over since January. The contractor has reportedly turned the reserved open land into a site office and a staging ground to store construction supplies.
The materials currently occupying the Sherly Rajan Road plot include cement sacks, steel rods, and heavy roadwork machinery. Residents pointed out that the extended use of the plot for logistical operations has prevented the neighbourhood from utilising the space as an open garden.
Citizens have urged municipal authorities to intervene, clear the construction materials from the site, and ensure the reserved recreation area is restored for its designated public purpose.
