Bandra Road-Rage Accused Claims Fitness Trainer Rammed Car Before Clash
Bandra police are investigating counter-allegations made on Instagram by alleged accused Bilal Khan in connection with an August 9 road-rage incident near Bandra Talao in Bandra West. Khan claimed that fitness trainer Arjunjit Garewal rammed his vehicle three times prior to the confrontation, prompting officers to verify both accounts.
The confrontation occurred at around 12.15 am on August 9 near Bandra Talao in Bandra West. Garewal, a 39-year-old fitness trainer, initially filed a complaint stating that three unidentified men attacked him following a traffic dispute. Garewal alleged that one person attempted to assault him with a steel baseball bat, while another individual smashed the windows of his Mahindra Thar SUV with a hockey stick while his wife was seated inside.
Following Garewal's complaint, the Bandra police registered a First Information Report (FIR) and detained three individuals: Bilal Shaikh, 30, Anas K, 25, and another person identified as Rajen. All three were subsequently released after receiving notices from the police, while other individuals suspected of participating in the incident reportedly fled the area.
Khan later took to Instagram to share his version of the confrontation after a viral video emerged showing him abusing Garewal and running toward him. Khan claimed that Garewal struck his vehicle while attempting to overtake and drove away, after which he allegedly rammed Khan's car two more times.
Khan stated that he chased and intercepted Garewal’s Mahindra Thar to question him about the damage and demand compensation. According to Khan, Garewal then exited his vehicle carrying a bamboo stick or wooden rod and initiated the physical clash.
Khan alleged that he acted strictly out of fear and had no intention of attacking Garewal. In his social media video, Khan displayed hand injuries to support his claim that he had also been hurt during the clash.
Police officials confirmed they are examining both narratives alongside video clips, dashcam footage, vehicle damage, and other physical evidence to reconstruct the exact sequence of events.
