BEST Bus Crashes Into 14 Vehicles in Andheri West, Injuring Up to Three People

A major road accident occurred in the Andheri West area of Mumbai after a BEST bus allegedly lost control and crashed into multiple vehicles, leaving at least two to three people injured. The incident caused a significant chain collision and temporarily disrupted the local traffic flow.

According to reports from the scene, a total of approximately 14 vehicles were involved in the pile-up. Among the damaged vehicles were 12 to 13 autorickshaws, which bore the brunt of the impact. The collision resulted in significant damage to several of the involved vehicles.

Following the crash, emergency response efforts were initiated, and the injured individuals were immediately rushed to Cooper Hospital for medical treatment.

Local police personnel and civic authorities arrived at the spot shortly after the accident occurred. The officials worked to assess the situation, coordinate the clearing of the damaged vehicles, and restore normal traffic movement in Andheri West after the brief disruption.

During the initial assessment, the driver of the BEST bus reportedly told authorities that the accident occurred after the vehicle's brakes allegedly failed. The driver stated that this mechanical failure caused him to lose control of the bus, leading directly to the multi-vehicle collision.

An official investigation into the accident is currently underway. Authorities are working to verify the bus driver's claims regarding the brake failure and to determine the exact sequence of events that led to the collision.
