BEST Bus Services in Mumbai Remain Unaffected by Union Leader Shashank Rao's Strike

Bus operations across Mumbai remained normal and unaffected on Tuesday, August 18, despite an ongoing hunger strike launched by transport union leader Shashank Rao, according to officials from the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) administration.
BEST officials clarified that the turnout of buses across the city showed no negative variation when comparing operations on August 18 with those on August 17. The public transport undertaking maintained regular operations across its network without service disruptions.
According to data shared by the BEST administration, operational capacity actually saw a marginal rise, with 13 more buses put into service on August 18 compared to the previous day.
A BEST officer noted that the turnout position for both BEST-owned fleet vehicles and wet-lease buses remained stable throughout the period.
The administrative statement was issued to provide clarity on city transport operations in the wake of the protest action initiated by Shashank Rao.
