Bhiwandi Police Arrest Man With 3 kg Ganja Worth Rs 1.28 Lakh in Asbibi Area

Bhiwandi City Police arrested a 42-year-old man in the Asbibi area of Bhiwandi on August 10 after seizing approximately 3 kilograms of ganja valued at around Rs 1.28 lakh from his possession. The suspect was allegedly carrying the illegal contraband to sell in the locality.
The operation unfolded when a police team conducting routine patrolling duties in the Asbibi area received specific information that a person carrying a consignment of ganja was scheduled to arrive in the neighbourhood. Acting on the tip-off, police personnel immediately laid a strategic trap and kept a strict watch over the location.
After waiting for some time, officers spotted the suspected individual arriving at the designated spot. The police team intercepted him and carried out a search of the bag he was carrying. During the inspection, officers recovered around 3 kg of ganja hidden inside the bag.
The police immediately seized the suspected contraband and took the man into custody. He was subsequently placed under arrest in connection with the drug recovery.
The arrested individual has been identified as Rajesh Kumar Prajapati, aged 42. According to police records, Prajapati currently resides in Bhiwandi and originally hails from the state of Madhya Pradesh.
Following the arrest, law enforcement officials launched a detailed probe to trace the origin of the seized ganja and identify where the accused obtained the contraband. Investigators are also working to determine who Prajapati allegedly intended to sell the contraband to and whether any other individuals are associated with the drug supply network.
Senior Police Inspector Vinod Patil confirmed the police action and stated that further investigation into the case is currently underway. Police are examining the full circumstances surrounding the possession and planned sale, as well as checking whether Prajapati was previously involved in similar criminal activities.
