Bhiwandi Police Launch Anti-Drug Reel Competition Under Campus Connect Drive

Bhiwandi Police have officially announced a new anti-drug reel-making competition for citizens in Bhiwandi as part of their 'Campus Connect' awareness drive. The initiative is being conducted under the state's DrugFree Maharashtra Mission and will run from August 9 to August 20.

The contest is designed to engage the public in spreading awareness about substance abuse and has been split into two age categories: participants below 18 years of age and those above 18 years. Entrants are asked to create short video reels that carry a strong anti-drug message while highlighting the explicit dangers of substance abuse.

According to the competition rules, each video reel must not exceed 120 seconds in duration. All entries must be submitted through the designated WhatsApp number by August 17.

To incentivize participation, Bhiwandi Police have announced prizes for the top entries. The first-place winner will receive a laptop, the second-place winner will get a television set, and the third-place winner will be awarded a mobile phone. The winners will be formally felicitated on August 20 during a ceremony at the Oswal School Auditorium in Bhiwandi in the presence of dignitaries.

In addition to the reel competition, the broader 'Campus Connect' campaign incorporates several community outreach efforts. These include guidance camps set up at prominent locations, awareness rallies hosted in schools and colleges, and specialized programmes on drug de-addiction and rehabilitation conducted in association with the Muktangan Rehabilitation Centre in Pune.

Outlining the purpose of the drive, Deputy Commissioner of Police Pawan Bansod stated that the authorities want to create awareness among students and citizens regarding the harmful consequences of narcotic substances.
