The Mahad City Police have registered a criminal case against BJP corporator Suraj Bamne and two others for allegedly physically assaulting Mahad Municipal Council Chief Officer Dhananjay Kolekar inside his office in Mahad. The incident, which was reported on Friday, occurred over disputes regarding water supply and has sparked strong condemnation from political leaders and protests from municipal staff.
According to the police complaint, Kolekar was working in his office when Bamne, Rakesh Patil, and an unidentified individual entered. The men questioned the Chief Officer about issues concerning their ward and water supply. The argument escalated, resulting in Kolekar being physically assaulted inside the municipal premises.
