BJP MLA Pravin Darekar Elected Unopposed as National Cooperative Union Director

BJP MLA Pravin Darekar was elected unopposed as a Director of the National Cooperative Union of India (NCUI) today in Mumbai. Darekar, who currently serves as the Chairman of the Maharashtra State Cooperative Union and the BJP Group Leader, secured the key leadership role at the national level, boosting representation for the cooperative sector of Maharashtra.
The uncontested election to the national apex body, which represents the cooperative movement across all sectors in the country, has generated significant enthusiasm among cooperative activists and stakeholders across the state. Following the announcement of the election results, Darekar received a flood of congratulations from the cooperative sector and various other quarters.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis congratulated Darekar on behalf of the BJP legislative group, presenting him with a bouquet in honour of his election to the national body. Several other prominent political leaders were present on the occasion to mark the achievement, including Cultural Affairs Minister Adv. Ashish Shelar, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Chandrakant-dada Patil, MLA Prasad Lad, and MLA Rajhans Singh.
Darekar holds multiple prominent positions within the cooperative sector in Maharashtra. He serves as the Chairman of Mumbai Bank and also helms the Maharashtra Housing Self/Group Redevelopment Authority. Over his career, Darekar has focused on introducing innovative schemes within the cooperative sector to ensure benefits reach common and underprivileged citizens.
His efforts in the state have ranged from promoting self-redevelopment schemes aimed at ensuring larger homes for the general public, to facilitating zero-interest business loans for women through the Mumbai Bank. Additionally, he has consistently raised issues related to the cooperative sector within the legislature to secure justice for the people involved. His uncontested election to the NCUI is expected to further his work of strengthening the cooperative sector alongside the common people.
