BKC Resident Rescues Telangana Tourist Held by Two Men Demanding Money

A tourist from Telangana was allegedly held against his will by two individuals who demanded money from him in the Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) area, before a local resident and bystanders intervened to assist him.

The tourist's luggage had reportedly been placed inside the room of one of the individuals. He was allegedly told that his belongings would only be returned when he was about to board his scheduled evening train.

Shiraz Bhartiya Ahmed, a resident of the BKC area, noticed the situation while passing through the neighbourhood. Ahmed stated that he immediately sensed something was wrong, prompting him and several other bystanders to stop and intervene to assist the frightened visitor.

Following the intervention, both individuals were taken and handed over to the BKC Police Station for inquiry and necessary action. Ahmed expressed his gratitude to the BKC Police Station team for taking charge of the situation once the men were brought in.

However, the tourist, who was reportedly extremely frightened and needed to catch his evening train, chose not to file a formal police complaint. Because no formal complaint was lodged, the allegations against the two individuals have not been established through an official investigation and remain unproven allegations at this stage.

Following the incident, Ahmed issued an appeal to tourists and members of the public to remain vigilant. He urged travellers to avoid unnecessarily engaging with or trusting strangers, protect their belongings, share their locations with trusted contacts, and approach the police immediately if they feel threatened.
