BMC Adds Rumble Strips to Mrinaltai Gore Flyover Arm Towards Relief Road

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has installed rumble strips on the recently opened arm of Mumbai's Mrinaltai Gore Flyover towards Relief Road following multiple complaints of vehicles skidding on the slippery stretch.

The civic body applied a rumble coat across the road surface to enhance tyre traction and improve safety. The intervention comes as welcome relief for daily commuters, especially motorcyclists and scooter riders who frequently navigate the newly opened connector.

Motorists using the new flyover arm had flagged that the road surface was extremely smooth, causing two-wheelers to lose grip and riders to fall. The risk of skidding was particularly pronounced during wet conditions.

The issue had been brought to the attention of a senior BMC official on August 29, following which the civic administration assured that corrective steps would be taken to rectify the problem.

With the rumble strips now painted along the road, authorities aim to prevent further accidents and ensure safer transit for vehicles heading towards Relief Road.
