BMC Chief Inspects Footpaths in Mulund, Bhandup, Kanjurmarg, and Ghatkopar

Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Commissioner Ashwini Bhide conducted a more than three-hour inspection across Mulund, Bhandup, Kanjurmarg, and Ghatkopar on Thursday, directing officials to draft detailed footpath and traffic management plans.
The review was carried out as part of the civic body's 'Mumbai Pedestrian First' drive and ongoing Garbage Vulnerable Point (GVP) elimination initiatives.
Under the campaign, the BMC is focusing on making areas surrounding railway stations in Mumbai's eastern suburbs significantly more pedestrian-friendly.
During the inspection, Bhide directed civic officials to prepare targeted plans to address footpath maintenance and traffic flow, with particular attention to congestion and commuter movement during peak hours.
