BMC Demolishes 28 Structures for Road Widening in Vikhroli

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has demolished 28 structures obstructing road widening work between the eastern side of the Vikhroli (East-West) Flyover and the Mahatma Gandhi Marg (MG Road) Junction.
The enforcement action was carried out on Friday by teams from the civic body's N Ward. The demolition was undertaken to facilitate the ongoing road widening project planned between Rajawadi Road No. 7 and the Mahatma Gandhi Marg Junction.
Civic authorities identified the 28 structures as obstructions along the designated stretch where the widening work is actively in progress. The removal of these obstacles is intended to allow civic teams to proceed with the planned road development between the Vikhroli Flyover and MG Road Junction.
According to the civic administration, further action will be taken in the area as part of the same initiative. Officials stated that 19 more structures affected by the road widening project have been earmarked and will be removed soon to clear the remaining path for the project.
