BMC Denies Negligence at Rajawadi Hospital Over Govandi Resident's Unborn Baby Death

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has rejected allegations of medical negligence at Rajawadi Hospital in Mumbai, following claims made by Govandi resident Hira Bhandari regarding the death of her unborn baby.

According to the civic administration, available medical records show no evidence of neglect or delay in examining the patient. The BMC stated that doctors at the municipal hospital acted promptly throughout the course of Bhandari's medical care.

Medical staff were initially unable to reliably detect foetal heart sounds during Bhandari's preliminary examination. Following this, an ultrasound scan was advised without delay to assess the condition of the foetus.

The subsequent scan confirmed intrauterine foetal death. The civic body maintained that the hospital staff followed proper clinical procedures and provided timely attention upon the patient's arrival.
