BMC Denies Rs 25 Lakh Publicity Campaign for Mumbai Mayor

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Wednesday clarified that no separate organisation has been appointed and no additional publicity campaign has been commissioned for the Mumbai Mayor's Office.
The clarification from the civic body came in response to various reports claiming that an expenditure of Rs 25 lakh would be spent specifically on publicity for Mumbai Mayor Ritu Tawde.
In an official statement issued directly from the Mayor's desk, the BMC refuted the claims and stated that no separate agency was brought on board for the office.
The civic body explained that the expenditure related to handling the social media accounts and communications of the Mayor's Office is being borne entirely by the organisation already appointed to manage social media for the municipal corporation as a whole.
