BMC Invites Applications to Auction 180 Stall Pitches for Bandra Fair

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has invited applications for the auction of 180 stall pitches across four key roads in Bandra ahead of the upcoming Bandra Fair, scheduled to be held from September 13 to September 20.

The civic body is conducting the auction process for pitches situated along Mt Mary Road, Kane Road, Rebello Road, and St John Baptist Road to organise vending spaces during the week-long September festival.

According to the civic administration, 20 pitches on Mt Mary Road are set to be auctioned at an official base price of Rs 1.42 lakh. Additional pitches included in the auction are located across other sections of Mt Mary Road, as well as on Kane Road, Rebello Road, and St John Baptist Road.

In total, the fair area accommodates 430 stalls across the pilgrimage site and its surrounding network. Of these 430 stalls, 280 are situated directly on the slope leading up to the Basilica of Our Lady of the Mount. Stalls along this main incline traditionally sell candles that devotees use as worship offerings during the annual fair.

The remaining 150 stalls are positioned along the adjoining access routes on Rebello Road and St John Baptist Road. These access-road stalls cater to visitors by selling a variety of items, including clothes and toys.

The auctioning of the 180 municipal pitches forms a key part of the civic body's preparations in Bandra to manage commercial activity and visitor flow leading up to the start of the fair on September 13.
