BMC Launches Gen Z Fellowship 2026 With ₹61,500 Monthly Stipend for Graduates

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has announced the BMC Gen Z Fellowship Programme 2026, opening 50 seats for young graduates to gain practical experience in civic administration and contribute to the development of Mumbai.

The 12-month fellowship offers selected candidates a monthly stipend of ₹61,500. The application process commenced on August 19, 2026, and eligible candidates can submit their applications online until August 31, 2026.

According to the civic body, the initiative aims to provide participants with exposure to administrative functioning, education, leadership, and innovation while enabling them to interact directly with policymakers. Fellows will also receive a certificate upon successful completion of the programme.

To be eligible, applicants must be graduates from any stream and below 28 years of age. Candidates are required to read, write, and speak Marathi, possess adequate knowledge of Hindi and English, and have essential knowledge of computer operations and the internet.

Interested candidates can apply online through the BMC recruitment portal with an application fee of ₹500 before the August 31 deadline.
