BMC Launches QR-Coded Collars for Vaccinated Stray Dogs Across Mumbai

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has launched QR-coded reflective collars for vaccinated and sterilised stray dogs to improve their identification, digital registration, and tracking across Mumbai.

The initiative is part of the civic body's broader efforts to make Mumbai rabies-free by 2030 and strengthen technology-based monitoring of stray dog management, according to an official statement.

The new QR-coded reflective collars are designed to offer a more durable and systematic method of identification for the city's stray dog population following vaccination and sterilisation procedures.

Through the implementation of these collars, the BMC aims to maintain digital records and ensure consistent monitoring of street dogs across Mumbai.
