BMC to close Malad animal cremation facility from July 2 to 11 for maintenance

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has announced that its animal cremation facility located at Evershine Nagar in Malad (West) will temporarily close for scheduled annual maintenance and repair work. The closure is scheduled to take place over a ten-day period, starting from July 2, 2026, and lasting until July 11, 2026.
During this temporary shutdown, the civic body has advised citizens to use alternative animal cremation facilities. The designated alternative options for cremating domestic and stray animals are located at Mahalaxmi and Deonar.
The Evershine Nagar facility in Malad (West) is operated under the management of the BMC's Veterinary Health Department and the P-North ward office. The facility provides cremation services for small domestic animals as well as stray animals, including cats and dogs. These services are designed to ensure the dignified disposal of animals as part of the municipal corporation's civic animal welfare services.
The Malad animal cremation facility has been operational since its inauguration in 2023. The scheduled closure from July 2 to July 11, 2026, is intended for carrying out necessary annual maintenance and repair work to keep the facility functioning properly.
Pet owners and local residents who rely on the Evershine Nagar site will need to redirect domestic and stray animal cremations to the alternative facilities in Mahalaxmi and Deonar during the ten-day maintenance period.
