Borivali Police Arrest Man in Mira Road for 1990 Cricket Umpire Attack

The Borivali police have arrested 55-year-old Omprakash Lalta Pasi from Poonam Residency in Mira Road East, Thane, in connection with an attack on a cricket umpire dating back to 1990.
According to police, Pasi was 18 years old when the incident took place. During a cricket match, he allegedly struck the umpire with a cricket bat after being declared out. The umpire sustained serious injuries, and Pasi fled the scene immediately following the assault.
A case was subsequently registered against him at the Borivali police station. However, during the course of the court proceedings, Pasi repeatedly failed to appear before the court and was eventually declared a proclaimed offender.
Investigators stated that Pasi had changed his address and contact details over the years in an effort to evade arrest and avoid detection by law enforcement.
Police revived the search by gathering intelligence on his movements and carrying out a technical investigation. Officers eventually traced his location to Poonam Residency in Mira Road East, where they executed the arrest.
Officials stated that Pasi now faces an attempt to murder charge as the investigation into the case continues.
