Businessman Bhavesh Navinchandra Majethia Dies After Jumping Off Bandra-Worli Sea Link

A 51-year-old businessman lost his life after jumping off the Bandra-Worli Sea Link on Friday. The deceased has been identified by authorities as Bhavesh Navinchandra Majethia.

According to initial reports, Majethia was travelling in a taxi across the bridge when the incident occurred. He reportedly asked the taxi driver to stop the vehicle on the Bandra-Worli Sea Link, citing feelings of nausea. Once the taxi came to a halt, the businessman allegedly took the extreme step and jumped off the bridge into the waters below.

Following the incident, emergency teams were mobilized and launched a search operation to locate the businessman. The search and rescue efforts faced significant challenges, as rough sea conditions hampered the emergency teams working in the water.

Despite the difficult conditions, the search continued for several hours. The Mumbai Police eventually recovered Majethia’s body from the water after hours of effort.

Preliminary investigations conducted by the police indicate that financial stress is suspected to have been a key factor that may have led the businessman to take his own life.

The Worli Police have registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR) regarding the incident. The Mumbai Police have confirmed that further investigation into the case is currently underway to gather more details.
