Central Railway to take legal action over fake circular on Diva, Dombivli, Kalyan trains

On 18 July, 2026, the Central Railway announced that it will initiate legal action against individuals spreading a fake circular on social media. The fabricated document falsely claimed that passengers travelling on 15-coach suburban local trains would not be allowed to alight at Diva, Dombivli, and Kalyan railway stations.

The misleading message, which went viral across various social media platforms, prompted railway authorities to issue an urgent public clarification. The official response was aimed at preventing panic and stopping the spread of misinformation among suburban commuters.

The fake notice was written in Marathi and designed to look like an official Government Resolution (GR). It claimed that passengers on the new 15-car train services would be prohibited from getting down at the Diva, Dombivli, and Kalyan stations. Furthermore, the fraudulent document warned that police action would be taken against any violators who disobeyed the purported rule.

Central Railway officials strongly refuted these claims and urged commuters not to forward or believe the viral message. The administration advised passengers to rely solely on official announcements and verified updates from the railway network for all travel information.

In addition to correcting the misinformation, the Central Railway warned that it is taking the matter seriously. The authorities stated that they are initiating legal action against the perpetrators behind the creation and circulation of the fake notice, warning that spreading such fabricated documents on social media will lead to strict legal consequences.
