Chandrakant Patil Directs Universities to Frame SOPs Against Paper Leaks

Maharashtra Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil chaired an online meeting with vice-chancellors of public universities from Mantralaya in Mumbai on Tuesday, directing officials to prepare standard operating procedures to curb question paper leaks across the state.

The minister instructed his department to prepare and publish detailed standard operating procedures (SOPs) aimed at preventing exam malpractices. Under the new directives, accountability will be fixed on university officers and employees responsible for exam management to prevent question paper leaks.

The review meeting was convened to discuss key higher education policies in Maharashtra, with a focus on the effective implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) across all public universities.

In addition to measures against paper leaks, Minister Patil instructed all public universities to adopt a uniform academic timetable to streamline academic schedules across the state.

The minister also called on university leadership to strengthen interactions with students and review various ongoing administrative and academic initiatives within the state's higher education sector.
