CIDCO to draw lottery for 8795 EWS homes in Navi Mumbai as LIG units remain on hold

CIDCO to draw lottery for 8795 EWS homes in Navi Mumbai as LIG units remain on hold

The City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) is scheduled to conduct an online computerized lottery draw for 8,795 Economically Weaker Section (EWS) homes in Navi Mumbai on Monday, July 20. The draw, which is part of the December 2025 Housing Scheme, will proceed for the EWS category while the lottery for Low Income Group (LIG) homes remains paused following an interim order by the Bombay High Court.

The housing scheme originally offered a total of 16,876 flats located across various nodes of Navi Mumbai. This total included 8,795 EWS units and 8,081 LIG units. However, the lottery draw on Monday will only be held for the EWS tenements.

According to CIDCO, the draw for the 8,081 LIG homes has been kept on hold in view of an interim order passed by the Bombay High Court on March 25, 2026. This order was issued in connection with Writ Petition No. 2650 of 2026.

CIDCO received a total of 19,548 applications for the December 2025 Housing Scheme. Out of these, 10,832 applications were submitted by EWS applicants, meaning 10,832 people will compete for the 8,795 EWS tenements available in the upcoming draw.

The lottery will be conducted using a transparent computerized system. Once the draw is completed, the list of successful applicants will be published on CIDCO's official housing portal.

CIDCO has clarified that having an applicant's name included in the lottery results does not automatically confer any legal right or entitlement to the allotted tenement. The final allotment of the homes will remain subject to the verification of eligibility, scrutiny of documents, compliance with the terms and conditions of the housing scheme, and other applicable requirements.

Applicants have been advised to regularly check the official housing portal to view the lottery results and receive further updates regarding the allotment process.
