CM Devendra Fadnavis Chairs First Mahayuti Coordination Committee Meeting in Mumbai

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis convened the first coordination committee meeting of the Mahayuti alliance at his official residence in Mumbai on Monday evening. The meeting, which commenced at 7 pm and concluded with dinner, brought together coalition leaders to address key administrative and political matters.

Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Sunetra Pawar attended the discussions alongside several state cabinet ministers and senior party leaders from the ruling alliance.

A primary focus of the meeting was the distribution of District Planning Committee (DPC) funds, an issue that had previously been a point of contention among the alliance partners. Under the formula discussed, 70 percent of DPC funds will be allocated directly to local MLAs for development works in their respective constituencies, while the remaining 30 percent will be allocated based on decisions made by the local guardian minister.

The leadership also reviewed pending appointments to state-run corporations. According to sources, these appointments are anticipated to be finalised within the next fortnight. A couple of additional meetings will be conducted among the alliance leaders before a formal announcement regarding the board and corporation positions is officially made.

In addition to governance matters, coalition coordination was emphasized during the session. Instructions were issued to all constituent parties directing leaders, MLAs, and MPs to strictly refrain from publicly criticising allied parties or their leadership to maintain unity across the coalition.
