CM Devendra Fadnavis Orders Seismic Assessment in Nashik and Palghar After Tremors

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday directed the administration to undertake a comprehensive assessment of seismic activity in Nashik and Palghar districts. The order comes after a series of mild earthquakes and tremors were recorded across both districts over the past few days.

In Nashik district, a mild earthquake followed by tremors struck on Saturday and Sunday. The shocks caused cracks in the walls of houses in some areas of the district.

In Palghar district, two mild tremors hit within the span of an hour on Monday night.

In response to the seismic activity, Chief Minister Fadnavis instructed authorities to intensify safety awareness campaigns among local residents. The administration was specifically directed to focus these awareness efforts on students in the region.
