CM Devendra Fadnavis Outlines Blueprint for Nasha-Mukt Maharashtra Policy

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis called for a coordinated government effort to prevent youth from falling into drug addiction during a meeting held at his official residence, Varsha, in Mumbai on Wednesday to discuss the proposed Nasha-Mukt Maharashtra Policy.

Fadnavis stated that administrative efforts should focus on preventing addiction rather than relying solely on corrective measures after young people have already become dependent on drugs.

He emphasised the necessity of addressing the specific factors that push individuals towards substance abuse in the first place. The initiative blueprint includes plans for drug-free campuses and the restriction of tobacco stalls.

Fadnavis also highlighted the importance of approaching individuals currently struggling with substance abuse with empathy, stressing the need for supportive rehabilitation to help them return to constructive lives.
