CM Devendra Fadnavis Visits Hospitalised Anna Hazare in South Mumbai

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis visited veteran social worker Anna Hazare at Bombay Hospital in south Mumbai on Tuesday, September 1, where the 89-year-old activist is undergoing treatment for ill health.

During the visit, Fadnavis inquired about Hazare’s medical condition and extended his wishes for a speedy recovery, telling the veteran activist, “Anna, may you live a hundred years.”

Fadnavis also informed Hazare that the Maharashtra Cabinet had approved the revised cost of the Kukdi Irrigation Project during its meeting held earlier in the day. The Chief Minister expressed satisfaction over the approval while briefing Hazare on the government decision.

Hazare was shifted to Bombay Hospital in south Mumbai on Monday night from his native village of Ralegan Siddhi in Ahilyanagar district. His aide, Datta Awari, stated that Hazare had previously received treatment at a local facility in his village before being transferred to Mumbai.

Medical evaluations revealed that Hazare had been suffering from a kidney-related infection. Awari noted that while blood reports showed a renal infection, Hazare's health was showing improvement following initial treatment in Ahilyanagar last week.

Consultant physician Dr Gautam Bhansali confirmed that Hazare is responding well to the medical care provided. He stated that the activist's condition is better and stable.

A team of doctors at Bombay Hospital continues to conduct examinations to monitor Hazare's recovery.
