CM Fadnavis Inaugurates SCLR Phase-2 Arm and Final BKC Link

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis inaugurated several major infrastructure projects across Mumbai and the Mumbai Metropolitan Region on Thursday via a video link from Sahyadri Guest House in south Mumbai. The newly launched developments include the Santacruz-Chembur Link Road (SCLR) Phase-2 arm, the Chembur Metro station, the launch of a second Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM), and the final connectivity link designed to ease traffic around the Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC).

Speaking at the inauguration event, Chief Minister Fadnavis explained the history of the traffic relief initiatives surrounding the Bandra-Kurla Complex. He noted that six connectivity links were originally planned in 2017-18 to tackle severe vehicular congestion in the BKC area. However, planners eventually developed eight links to handle the area's traffic demands, with the final link officially being opened on Thursday.

The virtual inauguration ceremony was attended by key government figures, including Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar and other state officials, who joined Chief Minister Fadnavis at Sahyadri Guest House for the event.

The suite of projects aims to significantly enhance public transport and road connectivity across the metropolitan region, bringing long-term congestion relief to commuters traveling through Chembur, BKC, and surrounding Mumbai corridors.
