Corporators Demand Overhaul Over Hygiene Concerns in BMC School Midday Meals

Serious concerns over the quality and hygiene of midday meals served across Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) schools in Mumbai have prompted corporators to demand an immediate overhaul of the scheme.
The controversy has united corporators across party lines, who are seeking thorough inspections and strict measures against errant food suppliers.
In response to the issues raised, Shiv Sena (UBT) Corporator and Education Committee member Ankit Prabhu submitted a formal letter to Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe.
In his communication, Prabhu called for inspections into the meal supplies and urged the FDA to take action against the agencies responsible for distributing substandard food to municipal schools.
