Couple and 19-Year-Old Son Die in Fall From Hill in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

A couple and their 19-year-old son fell to their deaths from a hill in the Tisgaon area under Waluj MIDC in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district on Friday afternoon, police said.
The tragedy occurred while the parents were attempting to stop the teenager from committing suicide following a domestic dispute.
According to the police, the youth, identified as Kunal Chandgude (19), climbed the hill around 10 am intending to end his life after an argument with his parents over wanting a mobile phone.
His parents, Murlidhar Chandgude (48) and Sangita Chandgude, residents of the Zalta Phata area of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, reached the spot to intervene and stop him.
Local villagers and police personnel tried to persuade Kunal not to jump from the height. The fire brigade was also summoned to the location and attempted to position a net below the hill, but the teenager kept shifting his position.
Even as his father tried to console and convince him, Kunal jumped. His father went after him and fell to his death. Horrified by the unfolding tragedy, the mother also jumped off the hill and died, a police official said.
Police officials later recovered the bodies of all three family members and sent them for further official formalities.
