Customer Files Police, FDA Complaint Over Glass Found in Burger at Andheri Eatery

A customer has lodged formal complaints with the police and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) after allegedly discovering a piece of glass inside a burger served at Jimis Burger in Andheri, Mumbai.

The alleged incident took place on August 16, when customer Tanisha Gogri visited the Andheri restaurant accompanied by a friend. During their visit, Gogri placed an order for a Korean Veg Burger. While consuming the food, she reportedly found a piece of glass inside the burger.

According to the complaint, Gogri immediately alerted the restaurant's management about the presence of the glass piece in her meal. However, she alleged that the management disposed of the glass piece into a dustbin rather than securing and preserving it for proper examination.

Speaking about the incident, Gogri said, "I found a piece of glass in my Korean Veg Burger while I was eating it. I immediately informed the restaurant management, but they threw the glass piece into the dustbin."

Following the development, Gogri's father took the matter to the authorities and filed an official complaint at the Amboli police station. In addition to approaching the local police, he also submitted a formal complaint to the Food and Drug Administration to look into the eatery's food safety standards.

Both the police and food safety officials are currently looking into the complaint. Further details regarding the case are awaited. The allegations made against the restaurant have not been independently verified, and an official response from the management of Jimis Burger remains awaited.
